Following the acquisition of two KBA Rapida 106 sheetfed offset presses, the new printing centre of the Neidhart + Schön Group, Druckerei Feldegg and Bühler Druck now has the equipment in place to credibly implement the companies' sustainable media production strategy. True to their vision of high-tech and green, the three partners are systematically focusing their production processes on quality, efficiency, automation and sustainability.

On top of installing efficient presses featuring innovative functionality, the transfer of the heavy technology to the large shared printing centre will help to enhance material flows, which will help to considerably boost efficiency.

Technology partnership
The two KBA Rapida 106 sheetfed offset presses on order represent the latest generation in 740 x 1060 mm format. Through its Swiss arm Print Assist, KBA is entering into a technology partnership with the printing centre that is a first for Switzerland with a view to developing new, future-looking print technology.

Sustainability
Besides the technology being deployed to reduce spoilage, sustainability issues are being addressed by deploying environmentally friendly washing systems and making use of waterless printing following a transition phase with alcohol-free printing.

For customers of the three partners, the new machinery means even greater quality and production reliability, maximum flexibility, speed and sustainability in order handling.
